What happens during sick visits?

During sick visits at Pediatrics and Genetics, Dr. Krishnamurthy greets your child and may complete the following:

Vital signs check

During in-person sick visits, she checks your child’s temperature, blood pressure, pulse, or other vital signs.

Medical history review

Dr. Krishnamurthy reviews your child’s medical history. She discusses past diagnoses, medications, family history of health problems, symptoms, lifestyle habits, and more.

Medical exam

During an in-person or virtual medical exam, Dr. Krishnamurthy evaluates your child’s overall health and well-being. She examines their eyes, throat, breathing, and more to look for signs of possible health issues.

Diagnostic testing

Your child might need tissue swabs, urine or blood testing, asthma or allergy testing, heart-function tests, X-rays, or additional diagnostic testing. Dr. Krishnamurthy determines which they may need to diagnose their condition and create the most effective treatment.

Treatment

If your child needs treatment for an injury or illness, Dr. Krishnamurthy tailors a plan to help them feel better and reduce the risk of complications. She may suggest rest and fluids, other at-home remedies, wound care, fracture care, or over-the-counter or prescription medications.

She follows up with you and your child to ensure they feel better and provides referrals or hospital admissions if needed.
