What does newborn care consist of?

Dr. Krishnamurthy also comes to the hospital after your newborn arrives to complete a first medical evaluation. She assesses your baby’s weight, length, head circumference, breathing, heartbeat, and overall health and wellness. She also completes screenings for medical issues and offers a first hepatitis B vaccination.

When should I schedule newborn care visits?

Schedule a prenatal consultation with Dr. Krishnamurthy before your baby is born. After she evaluates your newborn in the hospital, schedule additional wellness checkups when your new baby is 3-5 days old, 1 month of age, and 2 and 4 months of age.
